Combate Estrellas I gets new main event opponent, and more
There are several recent changes to Combate Estrellas I, including a revision to the Marc Gomez vs. John Castaneda main event.
On Friday, April 13, Combate Americas Combate Estrella’s I card will be broadcast on Univision (12am ET/ 12am PT) and Univision Deportes Network (UDN) (12am ET/ 9pm PT) from the Shrine in Los Angeles, California.
There are several recent changes to the card, including a revision to the Marc Gomez vs. John Castaneda main event. A pre-fight medical exam indicated Gomez was suffering from a detached retina. Now Mexico’s Jose Alday is setting up vs. Castaneda.
One of the most anticipated debuts in the history of Combate Americas is five-division world boxing champ Amanda Serrano. Unfortunately, her intended opponent, Mexico’s Erendira ‘Aketzaly’ Ordonez, was unable to secure a visa. So now Serrano will debut vs. Corina Herrera from the USA.
Lastly, Jose ‘Froggy’ Estrada will now be fighting Rudy Morales, after initial opponent Pablo Sabori was injured.
