Combate Americas presented ‘Copa Combate’ on Saturday, November 11th at the Grand Oasis resort in Cancun, Mexico. The event featured a one-night eight-man tournament in the bantamweight division with the winner earning $100,000.
The event was tremendous from start to the perfect, storybook finish, where the local kid is bumped up from an alternate spot the day before, and ends up winning it all.
The show was so great that a fighter who lost in the opening round told me it was the best event he ever took part in. Imagine how the kid from Monterrey, Mexico felt – he won $100,000.
