Former UFC welterweight contender Karo Parisyan (18-5) will not serve the next chapter of his career in Strikeforce; the two sides were unable to come to terms.
“We had a cup of coffee,” Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker said. “It didn’t work out. “He’s a great kid. We wish him luck.”
Parisyan, 27, was released by the UFC after he withdrew from a scheduled fight with Dustin Hazelett at UFC 106 this past November in Las Vegas. UFC president Dana White said the fighter would never fight in the promotion again.
“Karo Parisyan has [expletive] over the UFC, the fans and his opponent again!!!” White wrote on his official Twitter account after the withdrawal, which came a day before the event’s weigh-ins.
