Coach: Tate could KO Holm
“I’d actually love to work with Miesha Tate for the next fight, I think I could be a good part of her team and definitely teach her how to beat Holly Holm.”

Noted striking coach Gil Martinez appeared recently on MMAjunkie Radio, and said he would love to prepare Miesha Tate for her fight with Holly Holm, and thinks ‘Cupcake’ could KO the UFC women’s bantamweight champ.
I’d actually love to work with Miesha for the next fight, said Martinez, as transcribed by Mike Bohn for MMAjunkie. I think I could be a good part of her team and definitely teach her how to beat Holly.
Sure, outstrike her and even knock her out. Anything can happen.
Martinez is a trainer at Xtreme Couture in Las Vegas, where Tate trains, but their paths rarely cross professionally, as Tate primarily works with Robert Follis. However, although the fight is less than a month away, Martinez would still like a shot a working with Tate.
Given that Tate’s skillset is wrestling heavy, and Holm’s is striking heavy, Cupcake KOing Holm seems exceeding unlikely, but sometimes unlikely things happen in mixed martial arts.
Miesha Tate fights Holly Holm in the co-main event of UFC 196 on March 5 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Featherweight champion Conor McGregor fights lightweight champion Rafael Dos Anjos in the main event.
