Kimbo Slice made a triumphant return to mixed martial arts at Bellator MMA 138 with a win over Ken Shamrock. MMAJunkie recently spoke to his main coach at American Top Team who said that Kimbo isn’t back in the gym yet due to an injury, but will be soon and is ready to fight anyone:

He’s taking some time off, and I’m not certain where he wants to go next, Ferguson’s MMA coach, UFC vet and former WEC featherweight champion Mike Brown, told MMAjunkie.

To that, Brown can only offer one suggestion he’s heard as a potential opponent, and it’s a fight he thinks could generate some serious interest in Ferguson’s home state of Florida. Whether it does so in the national market is perhaps a different story.

There’s a few options, I think, but one local fight that’s down here would be the guy who just put out the documentary, said Brown, referring to Dhafir Harris, otherwise known as Dada5000.

Harris was actually a member of Ferguson’s entourage, working as security for the bearded brawler before striking out on his own to promote backyard fights that eventually were profiled in the Netflix documentary Dawg Fight.

That could build some local interest in Florida, Brown said. I don’t know if it has the same push as the Shamrock fight, obviously. But that would be something that I wouldn’t mind seeing. I think it would do really well in Florida.
