Nov. 15, 2011 – Clinch Gear™, the leading performance training apparel brand, announced today that it is teaming with MMA superstar Dan Hendo Henderson to feed needy American families on Thanksgiving.
Henderson will face former light heavyweight titleholder Mauricio Shogun Rua in the main event at Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) 139 on Nov. 19 in San Jose, Calif. For every limited-edition Dan Henderson walkout shirt sold through Nov. 24, Clinch Gear will subsidize the cost of providing a Thanksgiving meal for a family of four at either the Denver Rescue Mission or the San Diego Rescue Mission, area organizations where the Clinch Gear brand operates.
The Nov. 19 bout marks Henderson’s return to the UFC after a successful four-fight stint in Strikeforce, where he headlined events on CBS and Showtime while winning that organization’s light heavyweight crown. Henderson is expected to contend for a UFC title with a victory over Rua.
With the Thanksgiving holiday just days after my fight, we want to remind fans that there are a lot of people out there fighting for more important things than a UFC title, said Henderson. There are so many American families are struggling to pay for basic necessities, such as food, clothing and shelter, and this is an opportunity for Clinch Gear and the MMA community to make a difference this Thanksgiving.
