Champion boxer Maureen Shea: Rousey would beat FMJ
Maureen Shea: “Shoot I’d help her!. I’ve got ya back girl. Hey listen, I’ll set it up, I start it off, you can finish it off. I’m all about it … She’ll break his arm off.”
The documentary Stand By Me offered an insightful analysis of a potential fight between two notables.
Vern: Do you think Mighty Mouse could beat up Superman?
Teddy: What are you, cracked?
Vern: Why not? I saw the other day. He was carrying five elephants in one hand!
Teddy: Boy, you don’t know nothing! Mighty Mouse is a cartoon. Superman’s a real guy. There’s no way a cartoon could beat up a real guy.
Vern: Yeah, maybe you’re right. It’d be a good fight, though.
Right now there is a debate on a par with Mighty Mouse vs. Superman – Ronda Rousey vs. Floyd Mayweather Jr. They are in different weight divisions, in different sports, and are different sexes.
But the debate won’t go away. Another voice has piped up saying Rousey would defeat Mayweather, and this time it came from the boxing world.
IFBA Jr Featherweight world champion and NABA featherweight champion Maureen Shea recently did a periscope session with Shane Mosley, and offered her thoughts about Rousey beating FMJ.
“Shoot I’d help her!” said Shea. “I’ve got ya back girl. Hey listen, I’ll set it up, I start it off, you can finish it off. I’m all about it.”
“If you’re asking about Ronda’s boxing abilities, I think given the type of athlete she is, if she’s given a significant amount of time training as a boxer, I think she’d be an amazing boxer. But not right now. She is going to have to train for a period of time. You don’t just walk into my sport and say that I’m going to do what you’re going to do.”
“Listen, her athleticism, her desire to win, I respect every ounce of it. And you know, if she gives it the time, and just trains straight up boxing, I think she would do really well.”
Then Shea was asked how Rousey would fare in a street fight vs. FMJ.
“I got Ronda,” said the boxer. “She’ll break his arm off.”
