The Gangster from Oregon has suffered a few bad days.

On Saturday he was tapped by Tito Ortiz in the main event of Bellator MMA 170. Then Chael Sonnen became the first cast member fired from the latest season of NBC’s Celebrity Apprentice. Former host and current Executive Producer Donald Trump is tied up with some other matters, so Arnold Schwarzenegger was brought in as chairman of the board.

Sonnen sometimes sees rules more as suggestions. Sometimes the sound of one hand tapping is no sound at all. Sometimes the prohibition on PEDs is about as much of a prohibition as The Prohibition was.

And when his team had two minutes left in a project to create a brochure for the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios, Sonnen took advantage of a rule that provided more time in the case of a technical difficulty. Chael made the technical difficulty, with scissors, on an electrical cord.

Arnold was not impressed.

Chael, I know that you think this is a gray area, but in my world, this is not a gray area, said Schwarzenegger said. I will not tolerate cheaters in my boardroom. You’re fired.

Ortiz appeared on season 7 of the series, back in 2008. He made it until week 9, and his efforts raised $60,000 for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Afterward, Trump praised the fighter.

During the election season, Ortiz was a firm supporter of Trump, even joining a “Build the Wall” chant, something unexpected given that his father is from Mexico, and he often walked out with a dual USA and Mexico flag.

“I’m a Trump guy, said Ortiz in 2016. I wasn’t in the beginning, of course. I’m Mexican, when he said we need to take all the Mexicans out of United States … well good luck on that one. They’ll find a way to get back here anyways. But, you know in the long run, I think he wants to bring money back to our country and with the debt that we are in, I think he has an opportunity to do that.”
