Cerrone vs. Green will now co-main event UFC 178

The event will now be headlined by a UFC flyweight title flyweight, but it still was lacking a bit of star power, so it’s Donald Cerrone to the rescue.

With the loss of the Jon Jones vs. Daniel Cormier fight, UFC 178 lost a lot of it’s star power. The event will now be headlined by a UFC flyweight title flyweight, but it still was lacking a bit of star power, so it’s Donald Cerrone to the rescue:

The hardest working man in the mixed martial arts business, lightweight contender Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone, has his fourth fight of 2014 set, as he has verbally agreed to face off with fellow 155-pound standout Bobby “King” Green in the co-main event of UFC 178 in Las Vegas on September 27.

Green’s original opponent for the MGM Grand Garden Arena card, Jorge Masvidal, will now face James Krause on the same card.

“Just got the call,” Cerrone tweeted Thursday evening. “Here we go. I love this feeling, I was always the kid waiting for the school bell to ring. 3:30 / Park / after school.”
