Medical Marijuana, Inc., the first-ever publicly traded cannabis company in the United States, has announced that UFC women’s flyweight Liz Carmouche has become a spokesperson for subsidiary HempMeds to spread awareness on the therapeutic benefits of cannabidiol (CBD) for athletes and those looking to lead a healthy, active lifestyle.

Support for cannabis in the professional sports industry is on the rise. CNN recently published that 69% of U.S. citizens are in favor of athletes using cannabis for pain relief purposes and 67% of Americans say using a doctor’s prescription for an opioid painkiller poses a greater health risk than using medical marijuana.

We’re thrilled to have Ms. Carmouche share how our CBD hemp oil helps her stay on top of her game as a trainer, athlete and small business owner, said HempMeds president Stephen Jones. She has an incredible story and an incredible heart – we’re proud to have her working with us.

Carmouche, a U.S. Marine Corp Veteran, is the UFC’s most decorated ex-military athlete and is the first openly gay UFC fighter. Nicknamed the Girl-rilla Carmouche is currently the No. 6 ranked female flyweight in the league.

Now a spokesperson for HempMeds, Carmouche uses Real Scientific Hemp Oil (RSHO) to train harder and recover faster. Like most athletes, Carmouche was interested and excited to see the news that the World Anti-Doping Agency removed CBD from its 2018 banned substances list, opening up access to thousands to athletes around the globe who are subject to drug tests.

HempMeds was the first company to ever bring hemp-based CBD oil products to market in the U.S. in 2012 — and the first to both make CBD products available in bulk for U.S. consumers and also provide high-quality CBD hemp oil to customers around the world. HempMeds was also the first-ever company to receive historic federal government import approvals for its CBD products in the nations of Brazil, Mexico, and Paraguay.

I’m excited to share my experience of taking Real Scientific Hemp Oil and hopefully help other people, especially athletes, discover this natural supplement that is not only safe to use during intense physical activities, but is non-addictive and won’t get you high, said Carmouche. There’s just a lot of misinformation out there and I’d love to help clear that up.
