The base arts of Mixed Martial Arts are now well established: boxing, BJJ, Folkstyle/Freestyle/Greco, Judo, karate, and Muay Thai lead the list. As MMA was born from Vale Tudo matches in Brazil, it is fitting that the Afro Brazilian martial art of Capoeira just got a big shot to the face of recognition, from the largest city in Brazil, as Cairo Rocha lands a ‘Gancho Giratoria’ on Francisco Neves at the Brazilian Fighting Championships on Friday.
