Former BTT teammates Rousimar Palhares and Alexandre Cacareco Ferreira were scheduled to fight at UFC on Versus 3, on March 3rd. The bout would have brought back the long-time rivalry between Chute Boxe and BTT, as Cacareco switched from BTT to Chute Boxe.

Now, for the fifth time, Alexandre Ferreira is without a place to call home. Chute Boxe founder Rudimar Fedrigo broke the news and announced that ‘Cacareco’ was released from the Curitiba team with immediate effect. His contract with UFC is unaffected.

The athlete has been released from the Chute Boxe team. We wish Cacareco good luck in his career, which still involve the UFC.:

It was his disinterest for the team and lack of commitment. He made clear that he wants to follow the career with his own path and accordingly, I cannot get to talk to him for days at a time.

He will hear from the release on the Internet.”

He left friends in the academy, we have no bad feeling at all. I hope we can have contributed to the success of his career. For instance, it was thanks to Chute Boxe that he managed to step in the biggest MMA event in the world, the UFC.”

The fight with Rousimar Palhares, set for March 3rd to air on UFC Live on Versus 3, is now off.
