Dana White’s mantra after UFC parent company Zuffa purchased its biggest rival, Strikeforce, was “Business as usual.” What he supposedly meant was that Strikeforce could continue to run as its own independent entity.
What White actually meant was that he would add another promotion to his tombstone.
Let’s face it: Strikeforce is a dying promotion. We don’t know exactly how long the UFC will keep Strikeforce on life support, and we don’t know exactly how long Showtime will keep televising it, but we can plainly see that the UFC is taking what it wants from Strikeforce and getting rid of the rest.
