Buffer: Rousey had a ‘full table’ of Hollywood distractions and more

When TMZ caught up with Bruce Buffer at the airport, the “Veteran Voice of the Octagon” pointed to Rousey’s overwhelming out-of-camp schedule.

Most people who watched the UFC 193 saw two things. One, they saw what may be the female combat sports G.O.A.T. in Holly Holm, who has now won world titles in both boxing and mixed martial arts, and remains undefeated in the latter. And two, there was a general sense that it was not the best Ronda Rousey seen to date.

There were rumors before the fight that Rousey’s conditioning was not where it should have been. This is not to take anything from Holm – she didn’t just beat Ronda Rousey, she Ronda Rouseyed Ronda Rousey. Going forward, a Holly Holm can be turning your battered opponent, and then kicking her or him in the neck, into Bolivian.

Still, Holm began this year with a split decision win over Raquel Pennington?, who is 3-4 in her last seven fights. And Holm’s boxing heavy game was the perfect antidote to Rousey’s grappling strengths. And Rousey’s lack of low kicks meant she had little stop Holm’s tremendous footwork. And mentally, Holm was ferociously strong – she has been fighting professionally since 2002.

So taking nothing from Holly Holm, she did not appear to beat the best Ronda Rousey ever seen. When TMZ caught up with Bruce Buffer at the airport, the “Veteran Voice of the Octagon” pointed to Rousey’s overwhelming out-of-camp schedule. He referred to it as not just a full plate, but as a “full table.”
