Highlights from the Brock Lesnar interview on ESPN’s SportsCenter, where he appears with Dana White:

Tthrough a “miracle” of medicine, Brock will avoid surgery and be back to the Octagon this Summer.

Brock’s illnesswas initially diagnosed as mononucleosis. He was in Canada and had a fever of 104, felt like he had been gut shot. He is not impressed with socialized medicine in Canada, and headed South.

Eventualy a correct diagnosis was obtained at Med Center One in the USA – diverticulitis. He was hospitalized for 11 days on an IV with no food or water, and lost nearly 40 pounds. He was told surgery was unavoidable, and career ending.

He went back in the gym, and put on 30 pounds. A follow-up appointment showed his body had begun to heal itself, something Brock described as a miracle. Now “”there is literally no sign of anything even existing in there.” Dana described Brock as “doing some wholistic stuff, changing his diet.”

Brock is still the UFC HW Champion. Sometime in the Summer Lesnar will fight “Champion against Champion” versus the winner of Frank Mir vs Shane Carwin, who are fighting for the interim HW title at UFC 111. Should that plan fall through, Lesnar will fight the winner of Cain Velasquez vs Antonio Rodrigo Noguiera, who are fighting at UFC 110.
