BRAVE CF 74 will emanate from Nantes, France on September 7, with the biggest fight of the night taking place in the main event. In a lightweight showdown, Ylies Djiroun (19-7) will be stepping up to the plate on short notice to battle former BRAVE CF lightweight champion Lucas Martins (21-6).

It’s a contest in which there’s a lot on the line for both men. Martins, 34, finished Henrique Marques in his last BRAVE appearance in July 2022, but he’s also 1-3 in his last four fights with a parade of cancellations harming his ability to remain active. We all know how tough he is, but his big problem has been getting in there to prove it.

As for Djiroun, he isn’t just here to take part – he’s here to make a statement. He holds a 2-1 record under the BRAVE umbrella, and while his victory over Olzhas Eskaraev back in June was impressive, he knows just how valuable this kind of scalp would be. Plus, with his 10 submission wins as a pro, you just know he’s going to be dangerous on the ground.

Mohammed Shahid has been getting fans hyped up about this event, and during a recent episode of “Hawk’s Corner,” he broke down his favorite storyline heading into their collision.

“The main event is the fight that’s going to be focused on the mentality of these two athletes,” he said. “It’s not because these two athletes are coming at their peak and they’re looking with that hunger of, you know, ‘I am this young guy at the top of my game, and I want to go out there and win the fight.’ This is different.

“These are two veterans in the sport, two guys that have seen everything. They have gone through the ups and downs. The rise, the fall and the rise again. I think that is going to be the theme of this main event. The sad part about this main event, for me, is to look at these two absolute warriors with amazing mentality, and only one story about the rise again can be written on that day.”
