Zimbabwe’s Nicholas Hwende has made a bold call by calling out fellow South African-based BRAVE CF star Nkosi Ndebele to fight in the near future.

Hwende (6-0) – an African bantamweight champion – will make his BRAVE CF debut on Monday when he faces Russia’s Velimurad Alkhasov (8-1)in a hot 135-pound duel at BRAVE CF 71 in Riffa, Bahrain, and is confident that he can take the sambo world champion. The co-main event will form part of BRAVE CF’s first trip back to Bahrain in 2023 after lighting up Serbia and Slovenia earlier this year at BRAVE CF 69 and BRAVE CF 70, respectively.

“I’m confident in myself. He has a lot of strength, but I am used to this weight class and he’s not. He’s a normal fighter. He’s a person like everyone else. He’s not a superman, and I won’t treat him as such. I’m confident in getting a win.”

Hwende enters BRAVE Combat Federation unbeaten in the professional league with six wins in six fights with impressive victories over global stars, including South Africa’s Nkazimulo Zulu and Brazil’s Gian Souza. Top BRAVE CF bantamweight contender Ndebele has become a mainstay within the promotion since turning professional, building his career with the most-global MMA brand since 2018.

After eight wins and only one loss, Ndebele is currently awaiting his next assignment from BRAVE CF matchmakers, Hwende has shown high praise for his fellow South African-based colleague but feels he has the tools to overcome the bantamweight star inside the hallowed BRAVE CF cage.

“Nkosi is a good fighter. He is talented. I love the way he carries himself. But to me, he is a normal fighter who is doing well. To be in the cage with him one day, it would be an honor to share my skills with him and show him that there is more to this sport and that there are also levels and heart,” says Hwende – a lethal striker with great wrestling and cardio.

“All the guys whom I have fought so far, some of them are legends. So I would love to see how he can deal with what I have to offer. Nkosi, I would really love to fight you – exchange skills and knowledge with you. It would be an honor. You will take me to my greatest heights, you will bring out the best in me, but I don’t think you can beat me, though,” added Hwende.
