“We’re very excited to announce the signing of Alessio Sakara to BKFC,” said BKFC president David Feldman. “Alessio fits in perfectly with our talented light heavyweight division, highlighted by our highly anticipated world title fight this Friday at KnuckleMania 3 between Lorenzo Hunt and Mike Richman.”
Said Sakara about the signing, “I’ve been watching BKFC for a long time, both the events on the app and how the business has grown. Dave and his team have built a tremendous company which I’m excited to join. This is exactly the type of challenge I need and I can’t wait for my first fight.”
Competing in UFC and Bellator, Sakara holds an overall MMA record of 21 wins and 13 losses with 15 knockout victories. Included among the wins on his ledger are former BKFC heavyweight world champion Joey Beltran, Caanan Grigsby and Jamie Sloane. His victory over Joe Vedepo in the UFC earned him the “Knockout of the Night” award. Sakara also holds a professional boxing record of 8-1 with six knockouts.
Sakara’s first fight under the BKFC banner will be announced shortly.
