Former lightweight and welterweight champion BJ Penn has been ‘retired’ since a 2014 loss to Frankie Edgar, but recently has been hinting at a return.

Former lightweight and welterweight champion BJ Penn has been ‘retired’ since a 2014 loss to Frankie Edgar, but recently has been hinting at a return. Today he posted a picture to Instagram with famed trainer Greg Jackson and the message ‘We coming !! @ufc @danawhiteufc’
Jackson himself also spoke to MMAFighting, but didn’t add any specific details:
“I’m pleased with how the meeting went and very optimistic about the future,” Jackson told MMAFighitng.com. “BJ doesn’t have any specific fight plans, but we have [our own] plans.”
