UFC middleweight champion had beaten Luke Rockhold for just minutes before speculation began about who was next. The contenders included Jacare, Rockhold, Chris Weidman, Dan Henderson, and a returning Georges St-Pierre.

Famed boxing trainer Freddie Roach recently said that GSP had asked for a shot at Henderson, but the brash Brit had turned him down. Roach has worked with GSP a number of times, so the belief was he had some inside knowledge.

Bisping will instead face a rematch with Dan Henderson, perhaps in The Count’s hometown of Manchester, England. The first fight, at UFC 100, went Hendo’s way, in what is considered by many to be the greatest KO in UFC history.
