Bisping: It’s more fun being the bad guy

“It’s more fun to sit here and say what’s on your mind as opposed to being one of those guys that’s just trying to say the right thing. I ain’t Jon Jones, know what I mean?”

Michael Bisping recently appeared on Submission Radio ahead of his fight with Luke Rockhold at UFC Fight Night 55 on November 8 in Sydney, Australia, live on on UFC Fight Pass.

“The Count” discussed the heated exchange between the pair at a recent media event.

“You f—ing prick. Look at you, your pathetic. Control yourself boy,” began Bisping at the time. Then it got heated. In this interview Bisping offered some kind words for Rockhold, and then once again got back to form.

“I know he’s a tough fighter,” said Bisping. “He’s got legit skills. he’s got good power, he’s great on the ground, he’s got decent wrestling, and he comes from a good camp. That spells a tough fight.

“He, alternatively, thinks he’s going to walk right through me. And the guy is delusional. He’s crazy. And on top of that he doesn’t like me. I get under his skin big time, and I tell you what, I get such a kick out of it ’cause I just know his blood is boiling, and I love it.”

Bisping was then asked about assuming the role of the bad guy, and whether he enjoys stirring the pot.

“Unfortunately, I’ve always had too much to say,” acknowledged Bisping. “it often gets me in trouble… To answer your question, of course it’s more fun.

“I’m not out there trying to win a popularity contest. I’m just being myself. I think for the most part people get it, and everyone’s cool. Yah, I get booed here and there from time to time, but I’m alright. I’m happy. My Family’s happy. I’ve got plenty of friends. I’m not the biggest a—— you ever met.

“Of course it’s more fun to sit here and say what’s on your mind as opposed to being one of those guys that’s, you know, just trying to say the right thing. You know I ain’t Jon Jones, you know what I mean? What you see is what you get. No offense to Jon Jones, he’s a nice guy. But people kinda say he’s fake and this and that. I’ve always found Jon to be a very nice guy, but with me, certainly you can’t accuse me of that. I certainly say what’s on my mind, unfortunately.”

On a side note, the relatively unheralded Submission Radio, some 8000 plus miles from the heart of MMA in Las Vegas, is providing the entire sport a lesson in how it’s done.
