Luke Rockhold beat Michael Bisping on Saturday somewhere at UFC Fight Night 55, with a one-armed guillotine. Earlier in the fight there had been a clash of heads that led to a timeout and doctor check of a cut that Bisping had sustained in training. After the fight “The Count” offered no excuses, but said the head contact had had an effect.

I’ve got to be careful about how I word this, because he beat me fair and square, said Bisping as transcribed by Steven Marrocco for MMAJunkie, but I can’t really remember anything after the headbutt, to be honest. But that’s the way it goes. We’re in there and we’re punching and we’re kicking, and heads clash. I doubt it was intentional. But it certainly did affect things.

I still love what I do. I still love this. I’m a fighter, I’ll always be a fighter. As long as there’s a beat in my heart, I’ll still fight. I love doing this.

With the dominant win, Rockhold is now firmly in the division’s elite, and could move up even higher in the standings:

Champion : Chris Weidman

1. Anderson Silva

2. Jacare Souza

3. Vitor Belfort

4. Lyoto Machida

5. Luke Rockhold

6. Yoel Romero

7. Tim Kennedy

8. Gegard Mousasi

9. Michael Bisping

10. CB Dollaway

“I’ll fight whoever,” said Rockhol. “I’ll fight again. The title fight is a long ways away, and things need to happen. Whether it’s ‘Jacare’, Machida has a fight coming up, too. I think we’ve separated ourselves as the No. 1 contenders, and I’d be glad to prove myself against them.

So UG, who do you want to see Rockhold fight next?
