Bisping gets call to fight Rockhold for title at UFC 199
Many fighters expressed interest in taking the open spot, but ultimately the UFC went with British middleweight and Ultimate Fighter winner Michael Bisping.

Yesterday Chris Weidman announced his withdrawal from UFC 199, which left champion Luke Rockhold without an opponent. Many fighters expressed interest in taking the open spot, but ultimately the UFC went with British middleweight and Ultimate Fighter winner Michael Bisping:
Fresh from the biggest win of his career, a February victory over Brazilian icon Anderson Silva, Manchester, England’s Bisping has won three in a row and is showing the best form of his career. The Count, a former Ultimate Fighter winner, also has a history with Rockhold, as he lost to the current UFC champion in November of 2014, making the longtime contender hungry for payback in his first world title shot on June 4.
In the UFC 199 co-main event, which airs live on Pay-Per-View, Dominick Cruz defends his UFC bantamweight title against Urijah Faber in the conclusion of their trilogy.
