Brazilian giant Globo reports that Antonio Bigfoot Silva fights former UFC heavyweight champion Andrei Arlovski at UFC Fight Night 51 on Sept. 13 in Brazilia, Brazil.
Antonio Bigfoot will have accomplished his desire to fight in (Brazil’s capital of) Brasilia. The opponent will not be Josh Barnett, as he wanted, but Andrei Arlovski. Combate.com spoke to sources close to the UFC heavyweights who said the bout has been agreed to verbally, and will be the card of on September 13 in the nation’s capital.
The fight will be a rematch of the May 15, 2010 fight when the two faced off at Strikeforce day. On that occasion, the Brazilian won by unanimous decision.
Bigfoot’s suspension for doping, which occurred after the draw with Mark Hunt, will be terminated days before the event in Brasilia, meaning he will be free to fight on the 13th. At 34, the Brazilian has a record of 18 wins, five defeats, and one draw.
The Belarusian Andrei Arlovski is 35 years old and has a record of 22 wins, ten losses and one No Contest. He recently returned to the UFC, where she was champion, after a six years absence, and defeated Brendan Schaub in a controversial decision.
