Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira recently spoke with the Brazilian media giant Globo, and said wants one last fight with Frank Mir before he retires. Big Nog was finished in both of their previous fights.

“I’m ‘choking’ about his last win,” said Nogueira as transcribed by Fernando Arbex for BE. “I want to fight against him again, for sure, face him and impose my pace. I want this bout for 2015, this is my plan.”

“What would he have to gain is a win in his career. He needs it. He won’t be fight against a ‘nobody’. It would be interesting for me and for him. I won’t give him a easy fight. If he wants to test his skills, I’ll give him a tough task.”

Mir said he was interested in the fight, but had some concerns.

“I’ll give him this opportunity but I have to make sure that I’ll have something to gain, since I won two fights and he won none of them,” said Mir. “As long as there is something for me to take out of this situation, I would like to fight him again. No problem.”

Frank Mir, 35, has been fighting since 2001, was once the UFC heavyweight champion, and is on a four-fight losing streak. Nogueira, 38, has been fighting since 1999, was once the Pride Heavyweight Champion and the Interim UFC Heavyweight Champion, and is on a two-fight losing streak. As a fan of either or both great fighters, do you want to see them fight one last time, or would you rather see them retire?
