Here he breaks down the birth of global kickboxing – Benny “The Jet” Urquidez’s first fight in Japan, vs. Katsuyuki Suzuki on 3 August 1977 at the Nippon Budokan in Tokyo.
The same card also had Antonio Inoki vs. Everett “Monster Man” Eddy in a karate vs. pro wrestling contest. The bout was reportedly under mixed rules, but was in reality a pro wrestling work.
