Bellator flying cage to make US debut

Bellator 183 has a badass main event in Benson Henderson and Patricky Pitbull, with the built-in storyline that Henderson recently beat Patricky’s younger brother Patricio. Fan favorite Roy Nelson will try to deck Javy Ayala, who in turn decked Sergei Kharitonov in his last fight. And Paul Daley will fight Lorenz Larkin in a fight that could main event a normal card.
And the MMA-Kickboxing hybrid card will see the US debut of Bellator’s Flying Cage.
“A must-see spectacle, the steel structure is suspended from above and lowered to the platform beneath allowing the Bellator Kickboxing ring to completely transform into the Bellator MMA cage in less than 15 minutes,” explains the promotion in a press release. “Having been featured at previous events in Florence, Italy, Torino, Italy and Budapest, Hungary, the Flying Cage has never before been utilized in the United States. Bellator is proud to bring this unique experience to its Bay Area home at SAP Center in San Jose, Calif. on September 23.”
