Bellator 129 weigh ins: 7 of 11 fights at catchweight
Following Thursday weigh ins, of the eleven fights at Bellator 129, seven of them will be at catchweight, with fighters weighing in up to 16 lbs over their contracted target.

Mixed martial arts weigh ins were once an afterthought, attended only by officials, fighters, and camps. Then they grew in popularity, most notably in the UFC, where they draw thousands of live spectators. Weigh ins for other events receive far less attention, unless something goes wrong.
There are 11 fights at Bellator 129, and seven of them will be a catchweight. Initially three catchweight fights were scheduled, all on the prelims. Then Virgil Zwicker was brought in to replace James Thompson vs. Houston Alexander, and he was given a 215 target.
Then…
Lightweight Kevin Morris only made 158;
Bantamweight Chris Lane only made 139.5;
Welterweight Marcos Marquez only made 177.4; AND
Holly Lawson vs. Jozette Cotton, which was already a catchweight at 152 became a catchweight at 168 when Cotton showed up division or two up.
