Belfort tested for PEDs by NSAC, in FL, for Cali fight
The NSAC Bob Bennett told Kevin Iole that UFC middleweight Vitor Belfort was tested via both urine and blood, in Florida, for a fight that is happening in California.

Nevada State Athletic Commission executive director Bob Bennett told Kevin Iole for Yahoo Sports that UFC middleweight Vitor Belfort was tested via both urine and blood, in Florida, for a fight that is happening in California. Results are expected in approximately two weeks.
Belfort was provisionally licensed by Nevada in July to fight UFC middleweight champion Chris Weidman in the main event of UFC 181 at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, on December 6. As a condition for being licensed, Belfort was told he would be subject to comprehensive, random, out of competition testing for PEDs.
When Weidman injured his hand, the fight was moved from Las Vegas, Nevada to UFC 184 in Los Angeles, California on February 28. Bennett told California State Athletic Commission executive director Andy Foster that the NSAC would still test Belfort, despite the move to a different state. This is the first such test, but in all likelihood is not the last. In addition, Foster has tentative plans to test Belfort three to five time before the fight, at the fighter’s expense.
By the time the fight happens, Vitor Belfort will likely be the most tested figure in the history of the sport.
There is no word on whether Chris Weidman too will be subject to comprehensive, random, out of competition testing. Weidman has of course never failed a test, or been accused of doping. Never the less, out of a sense of balance and fairness, he also may have a collector representing the NSAC or CSAC walk up to his home or gym with a request. As Wanderlei Silva learned, refusing that collector can result in a lifetime ban.
