Bec Rawlings embraces social media, the good, the bad, and the ugly

UFC strawweight Bec Rawlings recently spoke with MMAjunkie ahead of her fight with ellow TUF 20 alum Lisa Ellis on the prelim card of UFC Fight Night 65, live on UFC Fight Pass.
The pre fight trash talk on Twitter was at moments more bitter than Quinine, drawing criticism from some quarters. Rawlings however took it in stride.
“They’re talking about me,” said Rawlings accurately. “They love to hate. They don’t realize the more attention they give to me, whether it’s good or bad, is good for me. There’s no such things as bad publicity. So I embrace it.
I get on social media and I have fun on there. I just be myself and speak my opinion. Sometimes people don’t like the truth. Sometimes people don’t like the truth coming from women. I think that’s the problem. Sohey don’t expect me to speak so brash and truthful, I guess. So I don’t mind. You’re going to get hate regardless, so I might as well go out there and have fun with it, and cop hate anyway.
Rawlings is coming off a loss to arch rival Heather Jo Clark in the TUF Finale, and said she plans to fight Saturday night like she did in the third round vs. Clark. She said the difference was in the third, her coaches told her she needed a knockout to win, so expect Rawlings to come out early looking to Ellis to sleep.
