Baffling ‘Warrior Island’ reality TV series in development

A baffling martial arts based reality television show is apparently in some stage of preparation.

The Global Proving Ground is asking martial artists to submit videos to their youtube channel. Fan voting will then determine a final 16, who will be sent to, well, “Warrior Island in the Pacific Ocean this Winter to film a reality TV show combining MMA & Traditional Martial Arts with the Masters of the world.”

As they explain “Global Proving Ground is where elite fighters from all over the world come to get noticed!”

GPG asks elite fighters from all over the world to “show the combat sports world what they have to offer by demonstrating their fight skills in a 1-2 minute video.”

The inclusion of the developmentally disabled candidate was not an attempt to make fun of a game young man who wants to challenge himself. He could without a doubt do fine against many of the other prospective entrants.

You can also sign up for the GPG Fighter Association at only $9.95 per month. As explained on video by the guy with the stripey belt, big mustache, and boonie hat, “it is not a requirement that you sign up, BUT, if you do sign up, you get a team of martial arts masters, and business people, the same people that built the UFC in the early days!”

Later it is explained that “Fans now can actually support your favorite fighter by helping them pay for their Global Proving Ground Fighter Association Dues. Your donation helps further their career.”
