Auction underway for Jessica Eye’s dad
A fight poster auction is underway on Ebay to defray medical costs for Jessica Eye’s father as he battles stage IV glioblastoma multiforme brain cancer.
UFC women’s bantamweight fighter Jessica Eye’s father Randy, 55, was diagnosed with stage IV glioblastoma multiforme, shortly after her win over Sarah Kaufman at UFC 166.
This is the same form of brain cancer that Ted Kennedy died from. The median survival rate figures are grim. If left untreated, it’s usually a matter of a few months. With treatment, maybe a year or more.
The tumor in his brain was removed the day before Thanksgiving.
“Now he’s got a pretty big fight ahead of him,” Eye told Ben Fowlkes for MMAJunkie. My dad was a single father for a long time. He’s been my biggest supporter since I started with all this. He always had my back, always cheered me on, and was always there for me. He really enjoyed the fact that I was as competitive as I am, because that’s how he is.
Eye has set up a GoFundMe site to defray her father’s medical costs and aid in his battle.
