“The Ultimate Fighter 11” cast member Rich Attonito (8-3 MMA, 1-0 UFC) returns to the octagon on Sept. 15 to welcome UFC newcomer Rafael Natal (12-2 MMA, 0-0 UFC) to the organization.
UFC officials announced the matchup today.
The pair meets on the preliminary card of UFC Fight 22 in Austin, Texas. Featuring a matchup between middleweight contenders Alan Belcher and Demian Maia, the main card of UFC Fight Night 22 airs live on Spike TV.
As a cast member of “TUF 11,” Attonito defeated Lyle Steffens to gain entry to the house and was awarded a win against Lyacey Uscola when “Ice Cold” was disqualified an illegal knee. Attonito was also forced to withdraw the tournament due to a broken hand suffered in the contest.
Nevertheless, Attonito returned for the season’s live finale and defeated the infamous Jamie Yager via second-round TKO. Attonito is an American Top Team fighter who carries an official three-fight win streak.
