ONE Championship welterweight champion Ben Askren is one of if not the best fighter not signed by the UFC. And despite Askren’s bitter Twitter quarrels with several figures in the UFC, including president Dana White, it looks like Askren will be with ONE for a long time – he has multiple fights left on his contract, and is not looking to leave.

“I’m with ONE FC for a long time and for the foreseeable future,” said Askren, 30, to Marc Raimondi for MMAFighting.

Askren helped corner teammate and UFC lightweight champion Anthony Pettis vs. Gil Melendez at UFC 181 on December 6, 2014, and said he never encountered White.

“He avoided me like the plague when I was cornering Anthony Pettis,” said Askren. “I doubt he would say hi to me if we were to cross paths.”

Despite a reputation for defeating opponents via wrestling that many fans find unexciting, in fact, Askren has not gone to decision since 2012, has had four finishes since then, and has never lost.

He defends his title vs. his ONE Championship welterweight title against Luis Santos on April 24 in Manila, Philippines.
