Arlovski vs. Miocic to co-headline UFC 195
The UFC has announced that Stipe Miocic will fight Andrei Arlovski, in the co-main of UFC 195 on Jan 2 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
UFC heavyweight Stipe Miocic was scheduled to fight Ben Rothwell on Saturday at UFC Fight Night 76 but was forced to pull out with an injury. Rothwell campaigned for a fight with Andrei Arlovski, who is on an amazing six-fight win streak, four in the UFC
However, the UFC has announced that it will be Miocic who get the fight with Arlovski, in the co-main of UFC 195 on Jan 2 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. UFC welterweight champion Robbie Lawler fights Carlos Condit in the main event.
Miocic has won four of his last five, most recently beating Mark Hunt in the 5th. His sole loss in the run was a controversial decision to former UFC champion Junior dos Santos. Miocic is currently ranked #3 in the UFC rankings, with Arlovski at #4.
A win for either fighter could well lead to a title shot.
