Anthony Pettis experiences tactical boat maneuvers

Bloody Elbow‘s Eddie Mercado helped arranged for Jimi Partyka to give UFC Fight Night 120 headliner and former UFC light champion Anthony Pettis a ride on some kind of SEAL Team 6 type scary super boat. Partyka is the founder of Spartyka Fight League, and an active duty Navy Chief and the Senior Enlisted Leader at Center For Security Force at Little Creek base in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

Anthony Pettis and other UFC members took time to visit the Sailors and staff who teach the Navy’s Amphibious Ready Group/Marine Expeditionary Unit Visit Board Search and Seizure (ARG/MEU VBSS) Boat Crew course.
On arrival, the group received a safety brief given by Center for Security Forces instructor Ryan McClellan and then donned protective gear provided by the site. The group boarded two 11-Meter Naval Special Warfare Rigid Hull Inflatable Boats (RHIB) and proceeded out on the Chesapeake Bay.
The UFC visitors experienced not only the speed of the craft and its maneuvering capability at high-speeds,but also how it can go from high-speed to a complete stop in seconds.
The experience was amazing, said Pettis upon returning pier side. I didn’t know what to expect with diesel engines so we started off slow but once we got going we were going. It was fast and we got some waves and air out there—it was a good time.
