Anderson Silva is the greatest fighter in UFC history. And he is 41 years old. Like very nearly every great fighter ever, there is a question about what’s next. He lives the life of a millionaire in California, but there are an estimated 268,000 millionaires in California. It’s a step down from being the UFC G.O.A.T.

Now in an interview with the press ahead of UFC 208, The Spider revealed his dream.

“My biggest dream, right now, is to maybe win an Oscar, said Silva, as transcribed by Combate and translated by Lucas Rezende for BE. I got some auditions to do in Hollywood. I wrote a script for a series and Netflix bought it, thank God. I got other projects apart from fighting. It was always my dream to become an action movie actor. I have been studying that for a while and now things are finally happening.”

“It’s an action show, but it has nothing to do with fighting. It doesn’t have a name yet, we’re still adapting it to script and we’ll settle on a name once it’s all done. I had to stop for awhile, but I’m always working on it, you know, it’s annoying. I’m always writing, putting ideas on paper, before I go to bed and after I wake up.”

Silva is no stranger to filmdom, although his roles to date have not been likely Oscar candidates. He has appeared in Never Surrender as Spider, in Hell’s Chain (2009) as King Anaconda, in Til Death Do Us Part part 2 (2013) as Andrew Silver, in Worms (2013) as the voice of Hairy, and in Tapped Out (2014) as Anderson. And Silva is not done with his fighting career.

Below he can be seen doing some amazing technical sparring with Jacare Souza during a different part of the media event.

Silva fights Derek Brunson at UFC 208, on February 11, in New York. The card is headlined by the odd inaugural UFC women’s featherweight championship fight between former bantamweight champion Holly Holm and Germaine de Randamie.
