Anderson Silva PSA in memory of fighter’s deceased child

On Saturday, September 3, at approximately 4:15 p.m. in Hawthorne, California a drunk driver struck Liam Kowal, the 15-month-old son of professional fighter Marcus Kowal. He was in a stroller, being pushed by his aunt, Eder’s 15-year-old sister. She was also struck by the vehicle, and received non-life-threatening leg injuries.
Liam’s parents made the extraordinarily difficult decision to donate his organs. Liam’s heart beats on in another body, that lives.
The alleged drunk driver, Donna Marie Higgins, was stopped by onlookers as she tried to flee the accident. She was arrested at the scene of the crime on suspicion of felony hit-and-run and drunken driving charges, but was released on Sunday after posting bail. When Liam passed, she was re-arrested on suspicion of vehicle manslaughter, but was released after posting $100,000 bond. Higgins is scheduled to appear for arraignment on Nov. 15.
Kowal has a vast spirit, and says he harbors no ill will towards Higgins. He would, however, like to “speak directly to her” at the trial.
A GoFundMe was set up to raise money for the family. Donations can be made to https://www.gofundme.com/2n9wr2jk.

Kowal is friends with the greatest fighter in UFC history, Anderson Silva, who posted on his social network a video warning against the dangers of drunk driving, and texting and driving. It was captioned “In Loving Memory of Liam Mikael Kowal. Rest in Peace!!!”
Silva is joined by two of his sons as he speaks compellingly to the camera.
This is very serious, said Silva to viewers. When you drive, please don’t drink. Don’t answer the phone, don’t pass text message. Please.
The video has 200,000 views and rising.
