Anderson Silva picks the best fighter in the UFC
Anderson Silva: “Khabib [Nurmagomedov] is a great fighter. I’m very impressed. … I think Khabib is the best, here, in this moment.”

Anderson Silva is arguably the greatest fighter in UFC history. During an interview with Kevin Tall, editor-in-chief of the Inquisitr, The Spider enjoyed a wide-ranging interview that included:
•The recent finding that his flagged anti-doping test was due to contaminated supplements;
•Who the best fighter in the UFC is right now;
•His friendship with Jason Momoa;
•His Spider Kick apparel brand;
•The Invincible Dragon that recently wrapped filming;
•His best fight ever (vs. Hayato Sakurai in Shooto, which earned his first title belt;
•and more.
“I feel more comfortable now,” said Silva of the USADA determination. “I think because it showed the world I’m not guilty, you know? That’s great for me and for my fans and for my credibility. That’s very important for me to continue my legacy, you know?”
“The more important for me is the result, USADA clearing my name. That’s the more important. Fighting is the next step. I love fight. God bless you, I have my company now. It comes day-by-day. And my project in the movies. Everything comes. [I’m] spiritual and grateful. We’ll see. We’ll see when I come back to fight.”
Silva did say he thought he would fight next year. And he was asked what active UFC impresses him at present.
“Khabib [Nurmagomedov] is a great fighter. I’m very impressed,” replied Silva. “Conor is a great fighter. Having a new generation of fighters, especially in the UFC… this is a huge company that’s worked for a long time to get the great fighters in the sport. I think Khabib is the best, here, in this moment.”
When Silva was the best, a superfight was often floated vs. the second best, Georges St-Pierre. The Spider was asked if that still holds interest?
Yeah, absolutely,” he replied. “Georges is the great name in Canada, I’m the big name in Brazil… I believe everybody in this sport [would] like to see Georges and Anderson Silva in a super fight, you know?”
However, at 43, with a title reign that lasted 2,457 days, a record unlikely ever to be broken, Silva said he had accomplished what he wanted inside the cage.
“I’m completely happy,” he said. “Now my goal is working hard outside the cage to inspire people, helping new talent — especially in Brazil — and I have one responsibility in the U.S. [The] U.S. give me everything, and [gave] me opportunity for living here, in this country, with my family. And now I’m going to [be] working hard for my company to give everything back to [the] U.S.
