Former UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva recently appeared at a media scrum in Rio de Janeiro, and talked about a possible return fight vs. Nick Diaz.

“Well, if everybody is saying that it would be an interesting fight, what am I going to say?” said Silva as translated by Guilherme Cruz for MMAFighting. “It could be an interesting fight.”

“Rematch with Chris Weidman is something that is not in my plans. He already defeated me twice, everybody saw this. Lyoto has an opportunity to fight him, we also have ‘Jacare’, who’s coming and looking for his way. Let’s root for them to get their space in the UFC and get their shot at the title, win it, become great champions and bring big wins for Brazil.”

Diaz remains semi-retired, having said that only a title shot or a $500,000 payday would be interesting. The challenge of fighting one of the all time greatest fighters in the history of the sport, plus points on a PPV could be enough to bring Nick back. If it does, the UG will be one happy MMA site.
