Anderson Silva has a message on race
“Racism, prejudice and discrimination are an inexplicable collective stupidity,” tweeted former UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva.

The sports world was recently subjected to a double dose of hateful racism.
Over the weekend, long-time despicable racist LA Clippers owner Donald Sterling was caught on tape being himself in a conversation with his girlfriend, who is of mixed race herself.
Also over the weekend, in soccer, Brazilian-born Barcelona defender Dani Alves, who is black, was taunted by a racist fan who threw a banana on the field. Alves picked it up, peeled it, and took a couple of bites before tossing it aside. There was a worldwide outpouring of support for Alves, inspired by his deft handling of the ugly incident.
“We have suffered this in Spain for some time,” said Alves. “You have to take it with a dose of humor. We aren’t going to change things easily. If you don’t give it importance, they don’t achieve their objective.”
Alves had complained last year, when racist fans subjected him the odious “ape grunt” in which fans chant monkey noises en masse when a black player has possession of the ball.
Today, former UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva offered a graceful message on race.
