Alves: We’re big because ATT management + training is only 5%

Susan Cingari interviewed Thiago Alves ahead of his fight vs. Seth Baczynski at UFC on Fox 11 in Orlando on Saturday. Alves noted that his opponent at 6′ 3″ will be the tallest he has ever faced, but added that the breadth of talent at American Top Team is such that there are plenty of lanky sparring partners.

Alves attributes the large number of top fighters at ATT to a new management policy.

“in the last two years it just became so huge, since we changed the policy for management and training of only 5%,” said Alves. “So if you want to have top quality training and the best management out there, we only charge 5%. All the other camps out there are usually 10% for management and another 10% for training. So if you got talent and if you need a new camp, come to us, we’ll take care of you.”

Prior to 3 Jan 2012 ATT charged the standard 10% for management and 10% for training. The drop to 5% for everything makes one of the greatest teams in the world insanely great.
