Today Keith Kizer, excecutive director of the Nevada State Athletic Commission notified The Underground by e-mail that all fighters were tested, and tested negative, for banned substances at UFC 148.
UFC 148 took place Saturday, July 7th, and was headlined by Chael Sonnen vs. Anderson Silva. Silva was victorious in his 10th consecutive title defense, stopping Sonnen in the second round by TKO.
The news is especially important because in their first meeting Sonnen tested positive for an high testosterone to epitestorone ratio, which is indicative of steroid use. That bout took place in 2010, with the same result, Silva defeating Sonnen, but in the last round with a submission.
Also of note is that all fighters on the card were tested, not just a random sampling.
