The circumstances around Jose Aldo’s UFC 189 out-of-competition drug test were a bit controversial, but the champion did pass them:
UFC featherweight champ Jose Aldo was negative for steroids and other performance-enhancers after a botched out-of-competition test conducted this past month by the Nevada State Athletic Commission in connection with Saturday’s UFC 189.
Aldo’s urine was tested using a partial WADA menu of substances including anabolic agents, growth factors and related substances and other banned PEDs, according to a testing document from the WADA-accredited Sports Medicine Research and Testing Laboratory in Salt Lake City, obtained today by MMAjunkie after a public records request. Combate.com first reported the results, which can be seen here.
The clean bill stems from a urine sample Aldo gave June 12 under the observation of the Brazilian Athletic Commission (CABMMA) and a collection officer from Drug Free Sport, who was working on behalf of the NSAC.
