Aldo out, Chad Mendes in vs. Conor McGregor
Dana White has announced that UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo is out and Chad Mendes is in vs. Conor McGregor. The pair will fight for the Interim title.

UFC president Dana White appeared on ESPN’s SportsCenter on Tuesday evening and announced that UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo is out of the most promoted fight in UFC history. Challenger Conor McGregor will now fight Chad Mendes for the Interim title.
Aldo’s decision came after evaluating his rib injury for a week. He will retain his title, and unless there is some insane ending to the UFC 189 main event, he Brazilian will come back and fight the winner of Mendes McGregor for the unified title.
McGregor previously expressed disinterest in who he faces.
Whoever shows up is getting beat,” he said. “It doesn’t matter what weight, what opponent, what condition they’re in, if they’re in the best condition of their life, if they’re in the worst condition, I’m still winning.
If McGregor wins on July 11, the fight for the unified title will be massive. If Mendes wins, it will be less so.
UFC 189 is co headline by UFC welterweight champion Robbie Lawler vs. Rory MacDonald.
