Aldo frustrated with featherweight logjam

UFC featherweight champion recently lost to lightweight Nate Diaz, in a welterweight bout. The pair are doing it again at UFC 200 on July 9. However, that leaves the top of the 145 division in limbo.
Former champion Jose Aldo is not impressed.
“You will come back [to featherweight] with your tail between your legs after what happened, after that embarrassment,” said Aldo to Brazil’s Esporte Espectacular, as translated by Dave Doyle for Yahoo Sports. “You will come back. My hand almost caught you, but when it does for good, you will sleep.

Both Aldo and Frankie Edgar campaigned hard for a fight with McGregor at UFC 200, and neither got it. Featherweight is a deep division, but only three of the division’s top 15 fighters have fights scheduled. Cub Swanson (#6) fights Harcran Diaz (#8) at on April 16 at UFC on FOX 19. And Jeremy Stephens (#9) fights former bantamweight champion RenanBarao at UFC Fight Night 88 on May 29.
Both Aldo and Edgar are holding out for a fight with McGregor at some point, so the talented division remains jammed up, with a timetable for resolution uncertain.
