Fighters not getting paid by sponsors used to be a near constant background noise at the top levels of mixed martial arts. The sponsor fees paid to the UFC were supposed to remedy that, and in point of fact the number of cases has dropped dramatically. Further, when it does happen, the companies are gone from the top of the sport, and do not engage in serial stiffing.

Unfortunately, cases of UFC fighters claiming publicly that a sponsor has not paid them have not disappeared entirely, as evidence by Akira Corassani on Twitter today.

Hopefully this is a simple misunderstanding, and the Swedish Iranian featherweight gets paid promptly.
