On Friday, the 140th event of the Absolute Championship Akhmat MMA league will be held in Sochi, Russia. The main event of ACA 140 will be the quarterfinals of the prestigious $1 million grand prix. In the third stage of the tournament, which started this spring, Kazakh fighter Artem Reznikov will fight Davi Ramos from Brazil.
Ramos, 35, nicknamed “The Tasmanian Devil,” has been fighting professionally since 2010. He has 10 wins and four losses. Previously, the Brazilian fought in the UFC, where he spent seven fights, won four victories and suffered three losses. In the last two fights, Ramos lost by judge’s decision to Islam Makhachev and Arman Tsarukyan. He came to the ACA for a solid prize money, which is why he did not even make attempts to return to the UFC.
Reznikov, 30, has been fighting since 2011. He has 22 wins and six losses. The last time Reznikov went into the cage on Sept. 19, 2020, he defeated Yusuf Raisov, who also participates in the grand prix and has already reached the semifinals, by unanimous decision over the Brazilian Hacran Dias.
In May, at the last event of the organization, the second semifinalist of the grand prix was determined. Russian MMA fighter Eduard Vartanyan defeated South African Alain Ilunga by choke in the third round.
In the co-main event of the tournament, the legendary Russian fighter Vener Galiev will fight against his countryman Mukhamed Kokov.
Galiev is a real veteran of mixed martial arts. He has 22 years of performances behind him. He had his first fight in 2000, and at the age of 46, he surprises fans with his excellent physical shape. Officially, Galiev has 33 victories, but even more of the victories out of 80 fights are not included in the statistics on the Tapology and Sherdog websites.
Meanwhile, 29-year-old Kokov has 17 wins and seven losses.
ACA 140 streams live on ACA’s official website.
