Believe it or not, April has come to a close already, and it was another eventful month for ONE Championship.

The most significant result of the past four weeks would undoubtedly be the epic world title upset that took place when Jonathan Haggerty dethroned longtime bantamweight muay Thai king Nong-O Hama at ONE Fight Night 9.

The jaw dropping first-round knockout topped an action-packed card on April 22, while three more ONE Friday Fights events went down at the iconic Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, providing endless moments of glory and ensuring April was a banner month for action.

Next up on the calendar is May, and ONE’s schedule of events is primed to produce as much, if not more, moments for the highlight reel.

Here are the three things coming up in the Singapore-based promotion that fans should look forward to.

1. An epic flyweight trilogy bout

May 5 is a massive night for ONE.

“The Home Of Martial Arts” makes its U.S. on-ground debut with “ONE Fight Night 10: Johnson vs. Moraes III” on Prime Video at Colorado’s 1STBANK Center that evening, and it’s bringing a stacked card.

At the top of the bill is the epic trilogy showdown between ONE Flyweight World Champion Demetrious Johnson and former divisional king Adriano Moraes.

The pair are locked at 1-1 in their rivalry, and the stage is set for an unforgettable conclusion to the series on the most significant night in ONE’s history.

2. The return of a superstar

Sage Northcutt’s debut was one of the promotion’s most highly anticipated when it went down in 2019.

The night ended in disaster for the American star, however, as he suffered a crushing first-round knockout at the hands of Cosmo Alexandre.

Fight fans around the world have been forced to wait almost four years to see Super back in action, but the time has finally arrived.

At ONE Fight Night 10 on May 5, Northcutt will lock horns with surging Pakistani lightweight Ahmed Mujtaba.

With his COVID struggles and injuries well and truly in the rear-view mirror, the 27-year-old is primed to deliver on the early promise he showed after bursting onto the MMA scene nearly eight years ago.

#3 ONE Friday Fights And Build-up For ONE Fight Night 11

There will be plenty to keep an eye on as ONE moves closer to “ONE Fight Night 11: Eersel vs. Menshikov” on June 9.

Given its stacked card, which is topped by two epic World Title showdowns, heated words are sure to be exchanged between the athletes competing – and that friction always leads to fire.

Alongside that hype, ONE Friday Fights will continue to whet the appetite of fans. So far, the weekly shows from the Thai capital have produced incredible action, and that is set to continue throughout May.
