Wedged in the middle of the stacked ONE Fight Night 10 on Prime Video card is an MMA showdown that could be the best of the bunch.
Croatian superstar Roberto Soldic (20-3) will face former ONE welterweight world champion Zebaztian Kadestam (14-7) in a blockbuster matchup at the 1STBANK Center in Colorado on May 5.
While there will be numerous contenders for fight of the night honors at ONE’s historic U.S. debut event, here are three reasons that Soldic vs. Kadestam could beat them all out.
1. Soldic is a bona fide knockout artist
Soldic was one of the most heavily hyped free agent signings in recent memory, and it’s not hard to see why.
Prior to his ONE Championship debut, “Robocop” was riding a seven-fight winning streak in KSW. Incredibly, that run included six knockouts and title wins in two weight classes.
Overall, the Croatian has a staggering 17 knockouts among his 20 career wins, establishing himself as one of the most dangerous welterweights on the planet.
With such a prolific finishing rate, Soldic always makes for top-drawer viewing.
2. Kadestam is never boring
Styles make fights, as the adage goes. If ever there were a perfect dance partner for Soldic, it’s Kadestam.
The Swedish veteran has had his wins and losses in the ONE circle across his six-year promotional tenure, but he is always exciting.
And currently, “The Bandit” is in form.
The 32-year-old has won his last two fights by devastating knockouts against dangerous opponents Valmir Da Silva and the late Iuri Lapicus. To date, he owns 12 career knockouts across 14 professional victories.
Also, the always-animated Kadestam is a real entertainer, with his antics in the ONE circle and appetite for action bringing some flavor every time he fights.
3. Put the two together and someone is going to sleep
When the ONE circle door is locked with two of the most prolific knockout artists on the ONE roster inside, one thing is almost certain – someone is going to sleep.
No backward steps will be taken by Soldic or Kadestam, and regardless of who comes out on top, the fans are the real winners.
As long as the fight lasts, it will be edge-of-your-seat stuff.
